With film cameras you have to create the picture before you release the shutter.

Hello Ramon, when do you start taking pictures ?
I started taking pictures as I was a child. In 2011 I sold my whole digital equipment and switched to medium format film cameras.

You seem to love the natural feeling of the film and avoid the “perfect” picture. What’s the reason ?
Well, today a lot of people only focus on megapixels, resolution and retouching. With film cameras you have to create the picture before you release the shutter. It’s the right tool for me at the moment.

What other artists inspire you?
There is a lot. Art, Design, Architecture and daily life is my inspiration.

Is photography your main activity ?
No. I work also as a Design Director. I graduated as a Design Engineer and Industrial Designer.

What do you enjoy about working with people?
It’s more emotional than everything else.

Your favorite place to shoot ?
I love beaches, sunny weather, run-down places and Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything like this in Switherland.

How do you select your models ?
It really depends on the project.

Black and white or color ?
Black and white (or mixed with color for fashion shoots)

What’s the best thing about your country?
Everything is working well here in a political and economic meaning. That makes us snobbish and boring sometimes.

Good advice for photographers out there ?
Not really. It’s too much mainstream in photography and fashion and there are insufficient competitors in my eyes.

And finally… Tea or Coffee?
What the hell is tea?
